Jason J. Fugate was born and raised in South Dakota, where he attended the University of South Dakota and received his B.S. in Psychology and his Juris Doctorate. He was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2004 and has practiced across western Washington ever since, appearing in Lewis, Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor, Pacific, Cowlitz, and Kitsap counties.
His practice concentrates on family law — divorce, child custody and support, parenting plans, guardianship, and protection orders — along with adoption, criminal defense, and general civil litigation. He has also helped qualified individuals restore firearm rights, vacate convictions, and seal juvenile records, and has served as a pro tem judge for a number of municipalities in Southwest Washington.
Jason understands that clients coming through his door are often in emotional and stressful situations. He takes a pragmatic approach, helping clients make informed decisions and seeking fair resolutions, while remaining prepared to take a case to trial when that serves the client best.
Jason has held memberships in the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association, and currently serves in Domestic Relations Attorneys of Washington. A former youth baseball and football coach and Chehalis Little League board member, he enjoys sports and reading about undercover operations, the CIA, and spy craft.
