Biography:
Mark grew up in Salina, Kansas as one of ten children and attended the University of Kansas on a National Merit Scholarship, receiving a B.S. in Business Administration with honors in 1978. Mark then moved to the State of Washinton to attend the University of Washington Law School, earning his Law Degree in 1981. For more than forty years, Mark has practiced law in Lewis County with an emphasis in business, real estate, land use and estate planning. Most notably, Mark serves as the land use Hearing Examiner for three counties and approximately 20 cities stretching from Longview to Issaquah.
Mark has a long history of community involvement with various local service organizations and charities. Much of his current spare time is spent assisting Centralia College. Mark is the longest serving board member on the College Foundation and in 2011 received the Foundation’s “Trailblazer” award. In 2017, he was appointed by the Governor as a Trustee of the College and is currently in his second 5-year term as College Trustee.
Mark and his wife, Wendy, have been married for more than forty years and have two daughters. Other activities include backpacking, cycling, and hiking.
